Common Questions & Answers
Remote Support software allows a technician to see your screen(s) and take over mouse and keyboard features. You will be able to see what they are doing on your screen as they are doing it. Some visuals, such as background image, may be temporarily turned off during the session to reduce screen delays for the technician, but these would be restored upon ending the session. You should avoid touching the mouse or keyboard unless requested by the technician, as your inputs will override the technicians. A bar at the top of the screen will display you are connected, and a pop-up will be displayed when the session is terminated to let you know the session has been closed out.
Yes. The software we use is noted to be one of the most secure remote support clients available, using 256-bit encryption, advanced user validation, and premium reporting. It is often third party audited and rigorously tested for security flaws; we have found that their testing for new vulnerabilities, communication about potential vulnerabilities, and patches are handled in a timely manner. We have integrated our own additional layers of security to further ensure that potentially unknown vulnerabilities cannot be exploited on our systems.
Some security software will flag any program that allows remote access and control of your system as a security precaution to prevent unintended access to your system. This is a good feature, but it will require you to make the additional step of adding an exclusion to download or run the program. We can walk you though the steps to do this over the phone.
No. This program is a single use program, and will only work for the specified code provided. Once the technician or you end the session, the program is terminated and to reestablish a connection a new code and download would be required. The program is also considered a zero-footprint program, which means there is nothing to uninstall and nothing left behind on your system other than the downloaded program file, which would no longer work and can be deleted.
